Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to medical telemetry patients using best practices
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly assess and respond to alarms and changes in condition
• Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient status in Cerner EMR
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely while following unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfers in a fast-paced environment
• Participate in unit initiatives, safety huddles and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience (telemetry/medical-surgical experience preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with medical telemetry monitoring and managing cardiac rhythms
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR (charting and documentation)
• CMSRN certification encouraged and viewed favorably
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficient clinical assessment and triage abilities for acute changes
• Comfortable using Cerner electronic medical record systems
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and thrive in a fast-paced med-surge environment
• Familiarity with remote patient monitoring equipment and VC150 room technology
