Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve residents' functional abilities and activities of daily living
- Assist patients with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and cognitive activities
- Accurately document treatment sessions and patient progress in the clinical record
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs to support independence
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license required
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- SNF or post-acute care experience preferred
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-focused care and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with post-acute and skilled nursing facility workflows
- Proficiency in documenting treatment sessions and measuring patient progress
- Skilled in therapeutic interventions for ADLs, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive tasks
- Ability to follow supervision and implement OT-developed plans
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and teamwork
