Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients with compassion and clinical precision, including vital signs and symptom evaluation for oncology patients
• Perform specimen collection and venipuncture with attention to accuracy and patient comfort
• Document thoroughly in EPIC to ensure clear communication across the care team
• Support medication reconciliation and manage pharmacy calls and refill requests
• Set up and assist with procedures using aseptic/sterile technique, including dressing changes
• Provide telephone triage and follow-up calls that keep patients informed and cared for between visits
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary services (social work, interpretation, pharmacy, phlebotomy) to coordinate holistic care
• Support survivorship, fertility preservation consultations, integrative oncology, and rehabilitation initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (experience in oncology/ambulatory settings preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation (required)
• Experience or comfort with phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen handling
• Ability to perform telephone triage and manage clinic-level office duties
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, vitals monitoring, and interpretation of lab results
• Specimen collection (capillary, throat, urine UA/clean catch, venipuncture) and labeling
• Medication reconciliation and basic pharmacology for outpatient oncology
• Procedure setup and assistance with aseptic/sterile technique
• Strong documentation skills in EPIC and effective telephone triage
• Comfort working in interdisciplinary specialty clinics such as family care, internal medicine, and urgent care
• Compassionate communication, especially for psychosocial oncology and survivorship care
