Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating day/night shifts; five 8-hour shifts per week (typical 40 hours/week). Every third weekend rotation (may be every other when department needs it). Specific daily start/end times vary by assigned day or night shift.

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and phlebotomy for infants, pediatrics, and adults across hospital and outpatient settings
- Conduct Point of Care (POC) testing, including Coaguchek INR, and document results promptly
- Use SoftLab and SoftLab PDA systems and chart results in Epic for clear, timely recordkeeping
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, handling, and transport to maintain specimen integrity
- Provide compassionate, clear communication to patients and caregivers during procedures
- Work independently when required while following hospital safety and infection-control protocols
- Complete required orientation, competency checklists, and on-site training to maintain proficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of full-time hospital phlebotomy experience
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Proven venipuncture experience across age ranges, including infants and pediatrics
- Experience with Point-of-Care testing (Coaguchek INR preferred)
- Familiarity with electronic charting (Epic) and laboratory systems (SoftLab, SoftLab PDA)
- Valid Driver's License required at time of submission
- Ability to work rotating day/night shifts and weekend rotations as scheduled

- Venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
- Point of Care testing procedures and quality checks
- Electronic charting in Epic and specimen tracking in SoftLab
- Operation of Coaguchek POC INR devices
- Specimen labeling, handling, and transport best practices
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner
- Infection control, safety protocols, and attention to detail
- Time management and ability to work independently when needed
