Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; every-other weekend requirement (Days: Sat & Sun; Nights: Fri & Sat); holiday rotation with permanent staff; typical guaranteed hours 36 hours/week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, compassionate neonatal nursing care in a Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery
- Stabilize and transition newborns after high- and low-risk deliveries, ensuring safe handoffs and transfers
- Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn assessment and resuscitation as needed
- Deliver postpartum couplet care—caring for both mother and well newborn together when assigned
- Troubleshoot and collaborate around respiratory support (ventilators, bubble CPAP, high-flow)
- Administer and monitor TPN, lipids and titratable drips safely and accurately
- Document care clearly and efficiently in EPIC charting systems
- Collaborate with NNPs, RTs, CNMs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Adapt to unit workflows and accept constructive feedback to continuously improve care quality
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or eligible to obtain) for Washington state
- Minimum 2 years of Level II NICU experience (will consider 1 year with strong prior travel experience)
- Current NRP, BLS and STABLE certifications required
- Comfortable attending high- and low-risk deliveries and providing newborn stabilization
- Experience with postpartum couplet care preferred (candidates without PP experience who can attend deliveries considered)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotate weekends and participate in holiday rotation
- Up-to-date immunizations, background checks and ability to complete credentialing (facility will accept licenses to submit)
Education
- Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN accepted (BSN not required)
- Required: Active RN licensure for practice in Washington
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Skilled in neonatal assessment and stabilization techniques
- Experience troubleshooting vents, bubble CPAP and high-flow oxygen systems
- Knowledge of TPN/lipids administration and common titratable drips
- Competence with feeder/grower care and tube feeding strategies
- Strong communication and family-centered care skills
- Ability to work autonomously in acute neonatal settings and collaborate with NNPs and RTs
- Comfort with tele/monitor systems and reading strips as needed
