Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to maintain high standards of patient care and adherence to policies
- Coordinate daily nursing operations including patient assignments and staff scheduling
- Act as a clinical resource and mentor, guiding staff in development and delivery of care plans
- Conduct performance evaluations, give constructive feedback, and implement growth plans
- Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold quality standards across the unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex patient needs and optimize care
- Monitor outcomes and lead quality improvement initiatives using data-driven insights
- Manage resources efficiently to ensure adequate staffing and equipment availability
- Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families to boost satisfaction
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding to build a strong nursing team
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire (must be verifiable via Nursys) — required
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited institution — required
- Minimum 5 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting — required
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role — required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) — required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management (BSN/MSN) — highly preferred
- Leadership or specialty certifications (e.g., Nurse Executive, CNL) — highly preferred
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) — Required
- Bachelor’s (BSN) or Master’s (MSN) in Nursing or Healthcare Management — Preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven acute care clinical skills and strong patient-care judgment
- Clinical leadership and staff supervision experience
- Staff scheduling and resource management expertise
- Quality improvement and regulatory compliance knowledge
- Effective mentoring, coaching, and performance management
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze patient/outcome data to drive improvements
