Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using formal and informal measures to assess physical, developmental, cognitive, and functional status
• Develop goal-driven treatment plans tailored to each patient’s tolerance and needs
• Document and submit written treatment regimes as part of the authorized plan of care and update plans as patient status changes
• Coordinate treatment frequency and duration with patients, families, and the clinical team
• Provide patient, family, and caregiver education about conditions, prognosis, and treatment rationales
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per regulatory and affiliate standards
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Michigan (MI) Occupational Therapist license (LARA) — must be active
• BLS (AHA) certification — current
• Demonstrated Occupational Therapy experience (required)
• Pediatric OT experience (required)
• Experience supervising OT assistants, aides, or students preferred
• Comfort working primarily outpatient with some acute care responsibilities
• Willingness to comply with facility submission/scheduling requirements (including non-local candidate restriction)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation, assessment, and outcome evaluation
• Experienced in developing and implementing treatment plans and interventions
• Proficient at scheduling treatments and coordinating care with physicians and clinical teams
• Strong documentation and clinical communication skills
• Ability to educate patients, families, and caregivers effectively
• Familiarity with outpatient and acute care workflows and rehabilitation services
