Shift Type: Day shift, 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM, includes every 3rd Friday/Saturday/Sunday and a holiday rotation (will include at least one holiday during the assignment)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients with professionalism and compassion
- Rapidly assess and triage ED patients when they arrive and effectively transition between med-surg and emergency duties
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care
- Perform thorough patient assessments, document findings, and escalate concerns promptly
- Manage patient flow by supporting both med-surg and ED needs when census or acuity requires
- Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
- Contribute to a safe, efficient unit by adhering to infection control, medication safety, and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state license verification required)
- Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with 12-hour shifts and med-surg nursing
- Comfortable with ED cross-cover responsibilities and rapid patient assessment
- Completion of facility-specific competency testing (Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist)
- Ability to pass required health screenings and verifications (fit test, drug screen, immunizations, TB test or IGRA, etc.)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and assessment skills
- Emergency department triage and stabilization experience
- Ability to manage mixed acuity patients and prioritize care
- Proficient in documentation, medication administration, and clinical decision-making
- Familiarity with hospital competency testing and skills validation processes
- Team-oriented communication and collaboration skills
