Shift Type: Tuesday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day). Orientation: Monday-Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM prior to start

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for patients in a correctional setting
- Develop individualized treatment plans that balance clinical best practices with the unique needs of the patient population
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, psychology and custody staff, to coordinate care
- Document assessments, treatment plans and progress notes accurately and timely in the facility medical record
- Respond professionally to psychiatric emergencies and contribute to safety planning and crisis intervention
- Participate in orientation, trainings and team meetings to maintain continuity of care and best practices
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
- Active, unrestricted California medical license or eligibility to obtain one quickly
- Board certification or active board-eligible status in psychiatry preferred
- Experience or interest in working in correctional or forensic mental health settings is a strong plus
- Valid DEA registration or ability to obtain one, and current basic life support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Education
- MD or DO (Psychiatry residency completed)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and psychopharmacology
- Familiarity with treatment planning and risk assessment in forensic or correctional settings
- Clear, concise documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
- Ability to manage complex cases and make timely clinical decisions
- Cultural sensitivity, de-escalation techniques and collaborative problem solving
