Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality acute hemodialysis treatments for adult patients
• Assess and monitor patient condition continuously, including vital signs and EKG interpretation
• Operate and troubleshoot dialysis equipment while adhering to infection control standards
• Collaborate with nephrology, critical care, and interdisciplinary teams to create and follow individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and post-dialysis care
• Document care accurately and timely in the medical record to support continuity and compliance
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure best outcomes

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Current BLS/HCP and ACLS required
• Minimum two (2) years full-time acute hemodialysis (Acute HD) experience prior to travel assignments
• One (1) or more years telemetry or ICU RN experience prior to Acute HD preferred
• Specialty certifications like CNN or CDN highly desired
• Must pass EKG exam with 80% or greater during orientation
• All licenses and certifications must be valid through the duration of the initial contract

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in acute hemodialysis procedures and machine operation
• Strong EKG interpretation skills
• Telemetry and critical care monitoring experience
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and rapid-decision abilities
• Clear communication and teamwork skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with documentation standards and compliance requirements in acute care
