Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; includes 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and holidays scheduled into rotation (day shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert cardiac and post-operative ICU care for high-acuity patients following evidence-based practice
- Manage individualized 1:1 to 1:2 patient assignments with excellent assessment and intervention skills
- Perform and maintain competence in bedside procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Recognize and manage dysrhythmias; complete and pass the required dysrhythmia exam
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating care and ensuring unit flow
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the transplant team
- Participate in mandatory SIMs Lab and maintain strict sterile technique during procedures
- Float to other ICUs and telemetry units, adapting quickly to different environments and equipment
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact RN eligible
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; CVICU/CTICU experience strongly preferred
- Mandatory Level I trauma experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Demonstrated strong IV skills, central line care experience, and Foley catheter insertion competency
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) and day-1 SIMs Lab (pass/fail)
- Must have own vehicle for travel assignments
- Facility-specific appearance/fit-test requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean shaven for fit testing
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing principles and cardiac post-op management
- Dysrhythmia recognition and ACLS algorithms
- Telemetry and dysrhythmia monitoring (Phillips telemetry experience a plus)
- IV therapy, central line dressing changes, and Foley catheter insertion
- Experience with IABP, CRRT, ECMO, Swan-Ganz, and post-CABG care is highly valued
- Familiarity with transplant, thoracic and advanced cardiac procedures including TAVR
- Strong sterile technique and procedural competency
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and charge nurse coordination
