Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct overnight polysomnography studies with professionalism and attention to patient comfort
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep study equipment to ensure high-quality data
- Monitor patients throughout the study and respond promptly to clinical needs
- Score and document sleep data accurately and thoroughly for the care team
- Communicate study findings and collaborate with clinicians to support diagnosis and care plans
- Complete required Trinity competency checklists and specialty testing as part of quality assurance
- Maintain infection control standards and complete all required health screenings and documentation
Qualifications
- RPSGT certification required
- Hands-on experience or training in Polysomnography (sleep study procedures)
- Ability to complete Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
- Up-to-date personal health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Fit Test, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, physical/health statement, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and Tdap
- Strong patient care skills and comfort working overnight hours
Education
- Completion of an accredited polysomnography technologist program or equivalent training (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in polysomnography equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of sleep study scoring, sleep staging, and related terminology
- Competence in patient monitoring, safety, and overnight clinical observation
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records for sleep labs
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
