Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend deliveries independently, including low-risk vaginal births and assisting in cesarean sections
• Circulate in C-sections and assist with catching and transitioning newborns safely to the nursery or mom
• Provide compassionate postpartum and mother-baby care, following AWHONN-recommended ratios
• Titrate and manage common drips (Magnesium, Pitocin, Insulin) with precision and safety
• Document all clinical care accurately using EPIC and Centricity Perinatal electronic charting
• Collaborate with OB/hospitalists, NNPs, anesthesia and surgical techs for emergent and routine cases
• Participate in unit orientation and competency checks to ensure high-quality, consistent care
• Support unit workflow improvements and respond positively to manager feedback to elevate patient experience

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington (or eligible to obtain; license submissions accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (1 year considered if you have multiple prior travel assignments)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Intermediate/Advanced FHM preferred)
• LDRP experience and comfort attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
• Ability to titrate drips and manage postpartum couplets according to unit policies
• No first-time travelers — prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Director requests 2 years of references to be submitted with your application

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BSN is not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with EPIC and Centricity Perinatal electronic charting systems
• Strong skills in fetal monitoring / EFM interpretation and maternal fetal heart monitoring
• Newborn transition care and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) competence
• Experience with surgical circulating and working alongside surgical techs
• Knowledge of high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, diabetes, substance use-related care)
• Comfortable with block scheduling and adapting to unit-specific workflows
