CNA - Long Term Care
Location: Bad Axe, MI
Shift Type: Varied schedule to total 40 hours/week, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (day); must be willing to float to other units as needed; blocked scheduling will NOT be approved
Candidate Pay Rate: $45 - $31.5 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to long term care residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility while maintaining dignity and privacy
- Take and record vital signs, monitor resident status, and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and thoroughly in the resident chart to support continuity of care
- Support safe transfers, fall prevention and infection control practices every shift
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to create a comfortable, home-like environment
- Communicate with residents and families with empathy, keeping them informed and reassured
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in Michigan (or eligible to obtain state certification)
- Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable floating to different units and adapting to changing team needs
- Previous long term care experience preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
- Strong communication skills, reliable attendance, and a patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with assistance in ADLs and basic resident care
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and basic charting/documentation
- Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and fall prevention
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow care plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
- Time management and prioritization during a busy shift
