Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiovascular nursing care for medium- to high-acuity patients before and after surgery
• Monitor cardiac status and detect arrhythmias using telemetry and clinical assessment, escalating changes promptly
• Deliver post-pacemaker and post-operative care with careful assessment and device checks
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective care plans
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC charting to ensure continuity and legal compliance
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative expectations, recovery milestones, and discharge planning
• Maintain situational awareness of multiple complex patients and prioritize interventions to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience (required)
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Comfort and ability to float to Med/Surg when needed (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular nursing expertise including pre-operative and post-operative care
• Arrhythmia recognition and telemetry monitoring
• Post-pacemaker care and device awareness
• Strong critical care assessment and prioritization skills
• Proficient EPIC charting and thorough clinical documentation
• Ability to manage multiple complex patients and collaborate across disciplines
• Familiarity with Med/Surg practices for potential unit float
