Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient evaluations to create individualized physical therapy treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on manual therapy and instruct patients in therapeutic and functional activities
• Administer modalities such as hydrotherapy, whirlpool, moist packs, ultraviolet/infrared therapy, ultrasound, and traction
• Evaluate prosthetic and orthotic fit and recommend adjustments to optimize patient function
• Design and teach home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate charts and department records
• Coordinate discharge planning with physicians, nurses, social workers, and caregivers
• Maintain and troubleshoot therapy equipment and complete preventive maintenance
• Provide in-service training and staff development to grow the rehab team’s skills
• Adhere to infection-control policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications

• Must hold a Physical Therapy License issued by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable treating patients from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Skilled in physical therapy evaluation, treatment planning, manual therapy, and therapeutic modalities
• Experience with prosthetic and orthotic evaluation and assistive device training (crutches, canes, prostheses)
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team
• Customer-service minded with a focus on patient education and outcomes

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and physical therapy evaluation
• Treatment planning and therapeutic modality application
• Manual therapy techniques and ambulatory/functional training
• Discharge planning and home exercise program design
• Infection-control procedures and safe equipment operation
• Ability to teach patients, families, and staff through in-service training
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting
• Understanding of human behavior, motivation, and caregiver education strategies
