Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations and functional assessments to identify patient strengths and goals
- Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on independence in daily living and meaningful outcomes
- Implement therapeutic interventions using evidence-based OT techniques and adaptive equipment
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and plan safe discharges
- Document progress clearly and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and community resources to support recovery
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapy license (required)
- NBCOT certification preferred or in progress
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain
- Clinical experience in adult or pediatric rehab settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and families
- Ability to work Monday through Friday and commit to the full 13-week assignment
Education
- Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (or entry-level OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Experience with functional assessments and developing measurable goals
- Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records and using standard outcome measures
- Good clinical reasoning, time management, and prioritization skills
- Collaborative approach to working within interdisciplinary teams
