Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT scans following established protocols to support accurate diagnoses
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by screening patients, explaining procedures, and monitoring throughout the exam
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain CT equipment while following radiation safety standards
- Review images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists and care teams to optimize studies
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient and imaging records in the electronic systems
- Complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklists to demonstrate proficiency
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and adhere to institutional policies and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Registered ARRT(CT) — required
- Current BLS certification — required
- Oregon Medical Imaging License for CT issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) — required
- Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, color vision, and vaccine/immune status checks
- Strong patient-care focus with professional communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of CT protocols, cross-sectional anatomy, and contrast administration basics
- Familiarity with radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
- Comfortable operating CT scanners and troubleshooting minor technical issues
- Excellent patient positioning and immobilization techniques for high-quality imaging
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with imaging PACS and electronic medical records
- Good interpersonal skills for working effectively with radiologists, technologists, and clinical teams
