Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report significant findings to nursing staff
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
- Maintain clear, timely documentation to support excellent continuity of care
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
- Collaborate with the care team to create a respectful, resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (state-required credential) or eligible to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable and competent working overnight 12-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient hygiene, feeding, and toileting assistance
- Basic vital sign measurement and reporting
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Familiarity with documentation and electronic health record basics
- Infection prevention and universal precautions
- Teamwork, time management, and resident-focused communication
