Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility to support rehabilitation goals
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Support patients emotionally and encourage independence and dignity
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Active registration or eligibility to register with the New Mexico CNA registry
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to per diem scheduling
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or acute care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills including bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe body mechanics
- Good communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset
- Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nursing staff
