Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; schedule varies and includes every-other-weekend and holiday support (night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside care in a PCU/ICU overflow environment, caring for critically ill patients with complex needs
- Continuously monitor and interpret hemodynamic data to inform safe, timely interventions
- Manage ventilators and respiratory support, titrating settings and collaborating with respiratory therapy
- Administer critical care pharmacology safely (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors) and titrate per orders
- Assist providers with bedside procedures such as intubations and chest tube insertions when needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner and perform mandatory bedside shift reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, participate in nurse leader rounding, and support positive patient experience
- Float to other units as needed while maintaining unit standards and patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years Medical ICU or PCU experience in a large facility (explicit requirement)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Comfortable with ventilator management, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line care
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR preferred
- Strong critical thinking, flexibility, and ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to float to other units and support holiday/every-other-weekend scheduling
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory support
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Critical care pharmacology: IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors
- Central line management, intubation assistance, chest tube assistance
- Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) and post-arrest care familiarity
- Proficiency with IV pumps and lift equipment
- Cerner documentation and electronic charting skills
- Ability to work effectively in 2:1 ICU ratios and higher-acuity PCU settings
