Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately and promptly
- Assist nursing staff with vital signs, mobility support, feeding, and comfort measures
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Follow facility policies and infection control procedures to keep everyone safe
- Support a positive, respectful environment that preserves dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
- Eligible for or listed on the New Mexico CNA registry (state-specific requirements may apply)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; friendly and patient-centered
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow care plans and documentation standards
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of resident care and assistance with ADLs
- Ability to observe, report, and document changes in condition
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic infection control and safety awareness
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
