Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for behavioral health and psychiatric patients using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with state law, hospital policy, and standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress clearly and accurately to support continuity of care
• Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance efforts to enhance patient outcomes
• Use critical thinking to identify safety concerns and escalate appropriately through the chain of command
• Offer clinical guidance and support across units when patients require longitudinal coordination of care
• Educate patients and families to promote recovery, safety, and active participation in the plan of care

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current CPR certification required
• Demonstrated experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing preferred
• Proven medication administration and clinical documentation skills
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and participating in an every-other-weekend rotation
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Familiarity with care planning, nursing process, and performance improvement practices

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
• Active RN licensure in Wisconsin
