Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients on the detox/chemical dependency unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor mental status and withdrawal symptoms, and intervene as needed
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse specialists, therapists and social workers in a multidisciplinary team
• Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse preferred)
• Administer medications, follow treatment plans and support patient safety in a behavioral health setting
• Support patient transition to outpatient resources and contribute to discharge planning
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain best-practice standards

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license — must be uploaded with profile and in-hand at submission
• Minimum 2 years of current Behavioral Health experience required
• Previous travel experience required (at least 6 months)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification required
• Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Must have reliable personal vehicle for this assignment
• Provide permanent address in profile at time of submission

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of detox/chemical dependency care and psychiatric nursing
• Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills in behavioral health settings
• Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate documentation, time management and ability to follow facility protocols
• Comfort working in an acute inpatient behavioral health unit
