Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Assist with meals and feeding, honoring resident preferences and dietary needs
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and respectful environment for residents
• Accurately document care provided and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Promote infection control practices and follow facility safety protocols
• Engage residents with dignity, patience, and meaningful interaction to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required (PA CNA or compact/state-appropriate)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Background check and health screening (including immunizations) as required by the facility
• Comfortable assisting with resident transfers and basic mobility needs
• Friendly communicator with a team-first attitude and a heart for long-term care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic patient care
• Knowledge of infection control and safety practices
• Strong observation and reporting skills for changes in resident status
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to follow care plans and nurse direction
• Basic charting and documentation abilities
