Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized rehabilitation programs to help patients regain function and confidence
- Perform thorough patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans per physician prescription
- Utilize therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, manual techniques, and physical modalities to optimize outcomes
- Document progress clearly, communicate effectively with the care team, and adjust plans as patients improve
- Provide strong patient education and motivation to support adherence and functional gains
- Assist with clinic management tasks, including supervision of students and other personnel
- Contribute to a positive patient experience and the facility’s reputation for excellent care
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (must be current and active)
- American Heart Association BLS certification (current)
- Minimum 1 year of licensed Physical Therapist experience (OUTPATIENT ORTHOPEDICS required)
- Completed Skills Checklist (current to 1 year) relevant to Physical Therapy specialty
- Two supervisory reference forms with dates employed (required)
- Willingness to participate in local onboarding and facility-required clearances
- Applicants within 50 miles of the facility are NOT eligible (facility restriction)
- Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques and program progression
- Skilled in neuromuscular re-education, gait training, manual therapy, and physical modalities
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and educate
- Experience with outpatient orthopedics and functional rehabilitation
- Ability to supervise students and assist with clinic staff coordination
- Solid clinical documentation and evaluation skills aligned with best practices
