Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health nursing care to adults on the unit
• Perform psychiatric and medical assessments and develop individualized nursing interventions
• Administer medications safely and document medication administration accurately
• Lead crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts using CPI and therapeutic communication
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered treatment plans
• Maintain required competencies and complete Prime exams and skills checklists
• Accurately document nursing care, progress notes, and care plans in the patient record
• Support discharge planning and patient education to promote continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (Nursys verification listed)
• Behavioral health nursing experience and comfort working in acute psychiatric settings
• Current BLS certification
• CPI certification for safe crisis prevention and de-escalation
• DCI/BVP certification as listed by the facility
• Willingness and ability to complete Prime Basic Pharmacology, Specialty and Core Competency exams
• Ability to pass a minimum 10-panel drug screen and required health screenings and immunizations
• Current COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, Varicella documentation as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
• Crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation techniques
• Medication administration and safe pharmacology practices
• Clear, timely clinical documentation and communication with team members
• Therapeutic communication and cultural sensitivity
• Familiarity with unit-based safety protocols and infection control
• Ability to complete competency-based exams and skills validations
