Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in a correctional behavioral health setting
Monitor and document patient behavior, symptoms, and progress accurately and timely
Assist with therapeutic activities and support treatment plans under clinical direction
Use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques to maintain a safe environment
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care
Maintain clear, professional communication and thorough clinical documentation

Qualifications

Valid Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential required
Available and able to work Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Willingness to complete the two-week training period at the start of assignment
Professional, calm approach to working in a correctional healthcare environment

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved psychiatric technician program and LPT licensure

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychiatric care basics
Skilled in observation, documentation, and reporting of clinical changes
Comfortable with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with clinical staff
Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols consistently
