Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub for cardiac, vascular and thoracic procedures with attention to sterility and precision
• Prepare the CVOR environment and specialized open-heart equipment prior to cases
• Collaborate with circulating nurses, anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure smooth case flow
• Anticipate surgeon needs during CABG, valve work, TAVR, EVAR/TEVAR and assist with device cases like LVAD/RVAD and ECMO
• Document case activity accurately in the EMR and support Meditech workflows when needed
• Support on-call coverage as the circulating nurse with a focus on patient safety and teamwork

Qualifications

• CST/ORT (Surgical Technologist) required and CVOR or scrub tech experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic cases
• Proven ability to scrub CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, EVAR/TEVAR, LVAD/RVAD and ECMO cases
• Punctual and reliable with a 30-minute callback availability and a flexible schedule
• Comfortable working in a small, high-acuity team and collaborating with experienced staff
• Experience with Meditech is a plus and will help you hit the ground running

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep familiarity with CVOR workflows and open-heart equipment
• Proficiency scrubbing cardiac, vascular and thoracic procedures
• Knowledge of CABG, valve surgeries, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid procedures and endovascular interventions
• Experience assisting on LVAD, RVAD and ECMO cases
• Competence using Meditech EMR for case documentation and charting
• Strong teamwork, communication and situational awareness in the OR
