Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Scrub, circulate, and assist across a broad mix of surgical cases including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma
• Accurately document patient care and procedures using Cerner
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure surgical suite readiness
• Participate in call rotations and adapt to a variable schedule when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to deliver excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice required; compact license acceptable where applicable)
• Minimum 2+ years of operating room / perioperative nursing experience
• Broad surgical knowledge across service lines listed in the posting (general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic, urology, burn, trauma)
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation
• Comfort with variable schedules and willingness to participate in call rotation
• Able to float to other departments as needed
• Certifications per posting: none required (NA); BLS recommended

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN preferred; active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation workflows
• Ability to manage high-acuity surgical patients with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in the OR environment
• Adaptability to work across diverse surgical specialties in a large hospital setting
• Time management and prioritization under variable scheduling demands
