Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient progress, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain clinical competency and participate in unit-based quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Hawaii)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
• Previous Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour shift blocks and adapting to unit needs
• Reliable, professional, and committed to excellent patient care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patients
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Patient education and discharge planning expertise
