Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Perform skilled procedures and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and professional accountability

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts with stamina and strong time-management skills
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and rapid decision-making in acute care settings
• Patient and family education with sensitivity to cultural needs
