Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients respiratory status and respond with appropriate interventions
• Administer respiratory therapies and manage mechanical ventilation when required
• Monitor patient progress, document findings, and adjust care in collaboration with the care team
• Provide patient and family education about respiratory conditions and home care plans
• Perform procedural tasks such as airway management, sputum collection, and nebulizer treatments
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to deliver safe, coordinated care
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure reliable therapy delivery

Qualifications

• Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Therapist or eligible to obtain one
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior acute care experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training are welcome
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited RT program
• Completion of clinical training and required certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in airway management and mechanical ventilation principles
• Skilled with arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Familiarity with common respiratory equipment and troubleshooting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Solid documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
