Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient conditions on the medical-surgical unit with attention to detail and compassion
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with physician orders
Coordinate care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
Perform thorough documentation in the patient record to ensure continuity of care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Respond to changes in patient status promptly and escalate concerns as needed

Qualifications

Active RN licensure (Registered Nurse) — required
Experience in Med/Surg nursing — demonstrated comfort with med/surg patient populations
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and manage the physical demands of the role
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — preferred (if not current, assistance may be available)
Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and monitoring

Wound care and post-operative care fundamentals
Electronic charting and accurate documentation
Interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education
