Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, maintaining a patient ratio around 2:1.
• Manage ventilators and advanced life support measures; assist with intubation and emergency airway management.
• Care for patients with central lines, arterial (A) lines and EVD devices, ensuring sterile technique and accurate monitoring.
• Administer medications and titrate vasoactive drips while closely monitoring hemodynamics.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EMR (Meditech) so the whole team stays informed.
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered plans of care.
• Respond promptly to clinical emergencies and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives.
• Float as needed to support other ICUs, BMT and PCU units while maintaining professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (required)
• Experience with central line/A-line care, intubation and critical care procedures preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Oncology or Neuro ICU experience is a plus
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend coverage expectations
• Team-player attitude, accountable and patient-focused

Education

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
• ADN/BSN (preferred but not required unless specified by client)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Ventilator management and familiarity with advanced life support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication titration
• Competence with central line and arterial line management and troubleshooting
• Comfort with EVD care and neuro-critical patients
• Clinical documentation skills in Meditech or similar EMR
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
