Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology and electrophysiology procedures with confidence and precision
• Prepare patients, equipment and the sterile field to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Monitor hemodynamics and vital signs during procedures and promptly escalate changes
• Administer medications and follow agency protocols, including DCI/BVP procedures where applicable
• Provide clear, compassionate patient education and peri-procedural support
• Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient status and post-procedure instructions
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond professionally to urgent clinical needs
• Cross-train across labs to enhance team flexibility and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (active and verifiable via Nursys)
• Certification: BLS and ACLS required; DCI/BVP required
• Cross-training or prior experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and/or EP Lab strongly preferred
• Comfort participating in on-call rotation and responding to emergent cases
• Ability to complete required competency testing (Prime Core Competencies, Skills Checklist, Specialty and Pharmacology exams)
• Successful completion of pre-employment health requirements including drug screen and required immunizations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cath lab, IR and EP procedures, instruments and sterile technique
• Proficient in monitoring hemodynamics, interpreting EKGs and recognizing arrhythmias
• Skilled in IV medication administration and procedural sedation monitoring
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking and rapid decision-making in procedural settings
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for high-functioning procedural teams
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and hospital electronic health records
