Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Collaborate with the interprofessional Cath Lab team to prepare patients, equipment, and documentation for procedures
• Monitor patients intra- and post-procedure, interpreting hemodynamic data and responding to changes promptly
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure adherence to Cath Lab protocols and safety standards
• Educate patients and families about procedures, aftercare, and recovery expectations with clarity and empathy
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and Cath Lab efficiency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina license or compact RN preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience; Cardiac Cath Lab experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required per facility
• Familiarity with Cath Lab equipment, sterile procedure workflows, and periprocedural patient management
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work in high-acuity settings, and strong teamwork ethic

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation in the procedural setting
• Competence with vascular access management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Skill in sterile technique, specimen handling, and procedural setup
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and intervene quickly in acute changes
• Patient education and bedside manner for pre- and post-procedure care
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting procedural care accurately
