Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8-hour shift (specific start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed with the facility)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $21 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents including bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
Assist with mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerns to the nursing team
Support residents’ daily living activities to promote dignity and independence
Document care and observations clearly in the resident record
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or obtained upon hire
Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings
Compassion, reliability, and strong communication skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of a state-approved CNA training program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documenting care, observing changes
Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
Comfort working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment
Teamwork, time management, and respectful resident-centered care
