Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in resident condition promptly
• Help with meal assistance and ensure dietary needs and preferences are respected
• Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Support residents’ social and emotional needs through respectful, person-centered interactions

Qualifications

• GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification or completion of an accredited GNA program
• Prior experience working with older adults or in a long-term care setting is highly valued
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
• Ability to pass facility-required health screenings and background checks
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable performing basic clinical tasks (vital signs, transfers, ADL support)
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Infection control and safety best practices
• Teamwork mindset and caring interpersonal skills
