Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to promote resident dignity
- Assist the nursing team with daily care tasks and follow care plans accurately
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition promptly to ensure safety and timely interventions
- Document care activities clearly and professionally to maintain accurate resident records
- Support residents’ social and emotional needs by engaging in meaningful conversation and activities
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices at all times
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
- Current, valid credentialing as required by the state of Maryland or ability to obtain quickly
- Comfort working with the geriatric population and a patient, empathetic approach
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a care team
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check, and any required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs and resident care
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
- Familiarity with documentation and care charting
- Infection prevention and safe patient handling practices
- Good time management and prioritization in a fast-paced care setting
- Compassionate interpersonal skills for working with older adults and families
