Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition, documenting changes accurately
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote mobility and comfort
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in team huddles and training to continually improve resident care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — Class listed as GNA
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or completion upon hire if required by facility
• Experience caring for older adults is a plus but compassionate attitude and willingness to learn are essential
• Ability to work the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Basic resident safety and transfer techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Familiarity with basic charting and following care plans
• Empathy, patience, and a calm presence in high-need situations
