Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools and thoughtful clinical reasoning
• Develop individualized treatment plans that align with patient goals and family priorities
• Deliver engaging therapy sessions that promote meaningful progress and functional gains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the medical record and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers with practical strategies to support carryover
• Participate in departmental initiatives, quality improvement, and professional development

Qualifications

• Active California Speech-Language Pathologist license (required)
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) required
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• New graduates welcome; clinical fellowship candidates encouraged to apply
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
• Experience with evidence-based therapy approaches and goal-driven treatment planning
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and tracking outcomes
• Ability to adapt therapy for diverse ages and diagnoses in outpatient or clinic settings
• Strong coaching skills to support caregivers and interdisciplinary partners
