Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' communication and swallowing abilities using evidence-based assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that make a real difference
• Provide skilled speech-language therapy and document progress clearly and efficiently
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional gains
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active SLP license in New Mexico or ability to obtain licensure promptly
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent CAS/qualification)
• Clinical experience working with adult/rehabilitation populations preferred
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with therapy billing/clinical charting
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification if required by facility
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent graduate-level credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Knowledge of rehabilitation approaches and evidence-based interventions
• Strong clinical reasoning and individualized care planning
• Proficient documentation and time-management abilities
• Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to educate and support patients and families with clarity and compassion
