Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and act quickly on significant changes in patient condition
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and document patient responses
• Administer medications and treatments safely when assigned to Med-Surg or Telemetry patients
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the care team about clinical changes and diagnostic results
• Respond rapidly and accurately to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Provide patient and family teaching to support recovery and safe transitions
• Maintain standards of care and mentor other nursing personnel when appropriate

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN license (required)
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certificate (required)
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certificate (required)
• Minimum 1 year acute care hospital experience (required)
• Experience with Telemetry and Med-Surg nursing and cardiac monitoring
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• DCI/BVP certification listed as a plus
• Ability to float between Telemetry and Med-Surg and adapt to changing unit needs
• Willingness to complete required health screenings, drug screen, and competency testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Care planning and nursing process implementation/evaluation
• Direct patient care in acute care settings
• Med-Surg skills and ability to manage complex patients
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR (preferred)
• Ability to communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort with rapid-response and acute event protocols
