Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour schedule, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, 3 nights per week (specific days vary), weekends every other (Night shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert emergency nursing care for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients in a combined adult/pediatrics ED
- Perform rapid triage and prioritize care to ensure timely treatment for high-acuity patients
- Manage ventilated patients, including ventilator settings and interpretation of ABGs
- Perform and maintain IV therapy, central line care, phlebotomy and blood product administration
- Recognize and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain/interpret 12-lead EKGs
- Assist with or perform advanced airway management, including intubation and CPAP/BiPAP support
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications, including IV vasopressors
- Respond to trauma and multisystem organ dysfunction scenarios alongside interdisciplinary teams
- Document care accurately in the charting system (Epic preferred) and participate in rapid response situations
- Educate patients and families, identify/report neglect or abuse, and coordinate safe dispositions
Qualifications
- Active RN license (California) or eligible for California licensure
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with CURRENT ER experience within the last year required
- Community hospital emergency department experience required
- Travel experience preferred; able to start and work a travel contract
- BLS required; ACLS, PALS, MAB, NIHSS preferred
- Demonstrated competence with ventilator care, central line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Comfortable with high-volume ED environment (approx. 270 visits/day) and 1:4 patient ratios
- Ability to work nights and every-other-weekend schedule
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Nursing and Pediatric Emergency Care
- Triage and rapid patient assessment
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and 12-lead EKGs
- Ventilator management, intubation, CPAP/BiPAP and ABG interpretation
- Chest tube insertion/management and care of critically ill patients
- Procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and emergency medication administration
- Familiarity with Epic charting (preferred) and strong documentation skills
- Ability to manage psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
- Orthopedic trauma basics: splinting and ortho trauma management
