Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients using evidence-based practices
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and recognize changes early to guide timely interventions
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to keep the care team aligned
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following ACLS and BLS protocols when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans
• Float between like units within scope to meet patient care needs and maintain continuity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry preferred, first-time travel nurses are welcome
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Comfortable and proficient with Epic charting
• Ability to float between similar units per facility needs
• Willingness to work night shifts and every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Solid medical-surgical nursing assessment and clinical decision making
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically around 1:5-6
• Critical thinking during emergency and rapid response situations
• Comfort with teaching and patient education at the bedside
