Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology procedures and assist the IR team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, verify imaging and sterile setup, and ensure proper documentation in Epic
• Support procedural flow by coordinating with physicians, nurses, and support staff — be the glue that keeps the suite moving
• Respond to call assignments and cover weekends as scheduled to maintain continuous patient care
• Float within scope to other like units when needed to meet facility demands and ensure staffing coverage
• Follow facility policies for call-offs and make-up shifts to support team reliability and patient safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience — must have IR experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Familiarity with Epic charting and electronic documentation workflows
• Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts, rotating weekends (every other weekend), and participate in required call
• Able to float within scope to similar units when requested by the department
• Pending licenses are NOT accepted — candidate must hold an active, valid license as required by the facility
• Open to travel/contract assignment rules: locals within a 50-mile radius of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong procedural knowledge of interventional radiology techniques and suite workflow
• Comfortable with sterile technique, patient prep, and radiation safety principles
• Proficient with Epic for charting and order management
• Adaptable and collaborative — able to work across teams in a fast-paced, trauma center environment
• Reliable under call and weekend schedules, with good time-management and communication skills
