Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams with accuracy and compassion
- Position patients and operate radiographic equipment following safety protocols
- Ensure image quality and proper labeling for timely clinical review
- Adhere to radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care and workflow
- Maintain clear, professional documentation and communicate findings to providers
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with best practices
Qualifications
- Valid RADT credential (Radiologic Technologist) — registry or state equivalent
- ARRT certification or eligibility preferred
- Current state radiologic technologist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to work in a correctional facility environment and follow facility protocols
- Professional attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability for weekday coverage
- Willingness to complete a 1-week orientation at the facility
Education
- Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology (or equivalent accredited program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in radiographic positioning and imaging techniques
- Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging workflows
- Knowledge of radiation safety and dose optimization
- Strong patient care and communication skills, including working with diverse populations
- Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and escalate issues appropriately
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment
