Roles & Responsibilities
- Process and code vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with tact and persistence
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to ensure payment accuracy
- Prepare and assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
- Communicate professionally with vendors and internal partners to answer questions
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and reporting
- Identify process improvements to streamline AP workflows and reduce errors
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred
- Comfortable using accounting software; experience with common systems is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel for data entry and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good verbal and written communication skills for vendor and team interactions
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of invoice processing, purchase order matching, and payment cycles
- Familiarity with reconciliation techniques and basic accounting principles
- Ability to spot discrepancies and research root causes
- Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to tasks
- Comfortable working with electronic filing systems and databases
