Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality 3-D mammography, screening and diagnostic mammograms to support early detection and patient care
- Execute stereotactic biopsies, fine needle aspirations and needle localizations with precision and compassionate patient communication
- Accurately document procedures, findings and patient interactions in Epic for seamless continuity of care
- Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control standards to keep patients and staff safe
- Collaborate with radiology, nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and care
- Provide clear patient education and emotional support before, during and after imaging and procedures
- Maintain imaging equipment, perform quality assurance checks and report any issues promptly
- Follow radiation safety and departmental protocols to ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of relevant mammography experience (explicit requirement)
- ARRT (R) certification preferred
- BLS certification (listed as a required/desired certification)
- Demonstrated experience with Epic charting (Charting System: Required)
- Active state radiologic technologist licensure required (pending licenses are NOT accepted)
- Comfort working in both inpatient and outpatient procedure settings
- Ability to float between like units as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- 3-D mammography, diagnostic and screening mammogram techniques
- Stereotactic biopsy procedures, fine needle aspiration and needle localization
- Infection control and isolation precautions
- Epic electronic health record proficiency
- Patient-centered communication and education
- Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient imaging workflows
- Radiation safety and QA processes
